Greenhouse Preschool is a preschool in Bothell, WA that appears suited to families looking for an early childhood program with a focused, child-centered setting. Based on its preschool format, it is likely aimed at young children who are ready for a more structured routine, group participation, and daily learning experiences in a school-like environment.
For parents, the main question is usually what a child will actually do there. A preschool program typically gives children a mix of guided play, early learning activities, songs, stories, art, and time with other children, all in a setting that supports early routines and group participation. While specific activities are not listed here, the preschool model suggests a place where children can practice following directions, taking turns, and getting comfortable in a classroom environment.
The address in Bothell places it within reach for local families who want an early learning option closer to home. Since no class details or age breakdown are provided, parents may want to confirm whether the program is best for younger preschoolers, older preschoolers, or a mixed-age group, as well as whether it operates on a part-time or full-time schedule.
For families comparing preschool options in Bothell, Greenhouse Preschool may be worth a closer look if you want a setting focused on early childhood learning rather than a general child care arrangement. It may be a particularly relevant option for parents seeking a more traditional preschool experience for their child.
We very much enjoyed our time at Greenhouse Preschool with Miss Ginger. We loved the style of learning and letting the kids get dirty and explore every day. We liked that healthy meals are provided, too. The class was fairly small, which we really liked for our kid and each season they made a little take-home book of art and pictures that Miss Ginger had taken of my kid and her friends. Those are real keepsakes for us and we have nothing but fond memories and appreciation for our time at greenhouse. My only regret is we didn’t get to go an extra year before starting school. Would very much recommend anyone looking to get your preschooler in here. Cannot say enough amazing things about this place.
Preschool should be more than daycare. And school should be more than numbers and letters. Enter Ms. Ginger and Greenhouse Preschool. A place where kids not only learn academics beyond their age but more importantly develop their whole selves. Social and emotional growth at this age is crucial and most preschools disallow the time and space for kids to develop these skills. Childhood is supposed to be play-based. It's literally how young minds are supposed learn to socialize with others: real world engagement during play. No screens, no excessive caution, no "well it's raining, guess we can't go outside" nonsense. Children thrive at Greenhouse Preschool because Ms. Ginger understands implicitly how real preschool education is supposed to work: get outside and dare to dream!
All three of our children attended Greenhouse Preschool with Miss Ginger from 2022-2026, and our family is incredibly grateful they had this experience. Miss Ginger leads with energy, enthusiasm, compassion, curiosity, and a genuine connection with every child in her care. She has created such a magical environment for little learners. They grow food and flowers, care for a pet bunny Kava, raise stick bugs. The outdoor space with its mud kitchen, climbing trees, playhouse, gardens, and endless opportunities for imaginative play is just perfection. The kids are outside rain or shine, and it's clear how much that connection to nature benefits their learning, confidence, and development. The learning philosophy is everything we hoped for in early childhood education. It's not about memorizing facts but asking questions, exploring, creating, and fostering curiosity. It's exactly what young children need. They graduate very ready for Kindergarten despite "Kindergarten preparedness" not feeling like the focus of the experience. Our kids absolutely adore Miss Ginger, and we have no doubt that the foundation they received in this in-home preschool, blending the best of Montessori, Waldorf, and play-based learning, has given them the best possible foundation. We can't recommend Greenhouse Preschool highly enough. If we could give 100 stars, we would.
My daughter attended Greenhouse Preschool for nearly two years, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made as a parent. Before Greenhouse, she was enrolled in a large franchise daycare. When she moved up to the preschool level there, I noticed that each classroom had a huge screen—and a lot of learning was happening through it. Kids were watching screens to learn reading, songs, and even dance. The environment felt overstimulating, and the children weren’t being well-regulated. As a scholar who studies children’s mediated experiences and their developmental impacts, I was acutely aware of how problematic that environment could be. I strongly believe that young children should learn through hands-on, sensory-rich experiences—especially during this critical stage of growth. For me, a screen-free environment wasn’t just preferable; it was non-negotiable. So I searched high and low for a better option—and I’m so glad I did. When I came across Ms. Ginger’s Greenhouse Preschool website and read about her approach, I was stunned. It was everything I had been dreaming of. Even just from the online description, I could tell that Ms. Ginger deeply understands child development and what meaningful, play-based learning should look like. We made the switch—and the school turned out to be even more wonderful than I expected. Ms. Ginger runs the preschool entirely on her own, and yet she creates an environment that is warm, intentional, and incredibly rich in learning. My daughter came home every day having learned something new—and more importantly, she felt seen, supported, and genuinely loved. That personal connection made all the difference. She’s now in public school, but I truly feel she learned more during her time at Greenhouse than she did in kindergarten. If Ms. Ginger ever opened a kindergarten program, we’d sign up in a heartbeat. Greenhouse isn’t just a preschool—it’s a rare and special place where one gifted educator makes a lasting difference in the lives of children. I’ll always be grateful we found it.
We are beyond grateful for the experience our daughter had at Greenhouse Preschool. The holistic approach to early childhood education is unlike anything else we’ve seen—it truly sets the foundation for both academic and emotional readiness. Our daughter entered kindergarten with confidence, curiosity, and the tools she needed to thrive. Ginger’s care and intentionality shine through in everything she does. Her genuine concern for each child’s growth and well-being is unmatched, and it creates a warm, nurturing environment that feels more like a second home than a classroom. This preschool is in a class of its own. We can’t recommend it highly enough!
