Ripple Montessori School in Bothell offers a preschool experience for young children that blends Montessori learning with bilingual instruction. Families looking for a program where children can spend their day exploring language, practical activities, and classroom routines may find this a helpful fit, especially for children around preschool age who are ready for a more structured early learning setting.
Children appear to spend their time with a mix of Montessori materials, creative projects, and hands-on classroom activities. The bilingual program is a defining part of the experience, with children exposed to both Chinese and English through songs, conversation, and everyday classroom interactions. That kind of setting may be especially appealing for families who want their child to hear and use language in a natural, engaging way rather than only through worksheets or passive instruction.
The school’s approach seems to be warm and personal, with teachers described as patient, energetic, and attentive to children’s individual needs. Parents may appreciate that the environment is organized, calm, and thoughtfully prepared, which can matter a lot for younger children who do best with predictable routines and clear structure. The focus on independence also suggests a classroom where children are encouraged to participate at their own pace and build confidence through daily activities.
For families, the experience may feel like more than simple child care. Ripple Montessori School appears to emphasize both early academics and whole-child growth, with attention to communication, self-confidence, and community. Parents considering a bilingual preschool in Bothell may want to ask about current age group placement, program structure, and enrollment details to see whether it matches their child’s needs.
I would like to share our wonderful experience with this school. My daughter started attending this school when she was 3 years old. At that time, she was still having difficulty expressing herself and could not clearly communicate what she wanted. After joining this school, we have seen amazing improvements in her communication skills. She has become more confident, active, and a much happier child. We truly appreciate both of her teachers, Mrs. Annie and Mrs. Destiny, for their dedication and care. Mrs. Annie mainly teaches Chinese. She is very patient, responsible, and puts a lot of effort into her teaching. Her lessons are creative and include many different activities, which make learning fun and engaging. My daughter especially loves her class and enjoys learning Chinese with her. Mrs. Destiny focuses on English learning. She is energetic, cheerful, and knows how to connect with children. She interacts with the kids, sings songs, dances with them, and creates a fun and positive environment for learning. Because of her teaching style, my daughter’s English skills have improved very quickly, and she has become more comfortable expressing herself in English. One of the biggest reasons we love this school is the bilingual education program. The combination of Chinese and English learning gives children a great opportunity to develop language skills from an early age. We have truly seen how much our daughter has grown since she started here. The school is also very clean and organized for children. We feel comfortable knowing that our daughter is learning and growing in such a caring place. We are very grateful to the teachers and staff for their patience, love, and support. This school has made a positive impact on our daughter’s development, and we highly recommend it to other families looking for a great bilingual learning environment.
Concerned About Safety and Lack of Follow-up As parents of a 3-year-old who attended this preschool for several months, we want to share our honest experience — not to harm the school, but to help other families make informed decisions. While the school initially appeared warm and engaging, we became concerned after our child came home with visible scratch marks on his face, which he said were caused by another child. Following that incident, he began showing emotional distress and expressed reluctance to return to school. During the May 30 school picnic, I personally witnessed other children hitting him on the back of the head while he was playing. I spoke directly with the lead teacher about it at the event, and she acknowledged the concern, stating she had a strong suspicion about who the child was and would follow up. However, we received no further communication afterward. Our child also continued to mention that someone had hit the back of his head multiple times. We later learned that a teacher may have made discouraging remarks to our child — such as calling him “the most naughty.” Whether intentional or not, this had a clear emotional impact on him and contributed to his increasing reluctance to attend school. Despite our efforts to communicate respectfully and seek understanding, the school chose to terminate services without further dialogue or support during the transition. We are disappointed that our concerns were not taken seriously and that the school chose to close the door rather than engage with us as partners in our child’s early learning experience. This may not be every family's experience, but we feel it is important to speak up — not out of anger, but out of care for our child and others.
Our daughter spent two wonderful years at Ripple Montessori School, and the positive changes we've seen are remarkable. She was constantly engaged in a rich mix of practical and creative activities that made every day a new adventure. She arrived as a cautious child but has blossomed into a confident and brave explorer, eagerly engaging with the world around her. She formed her first close friendships here and loves sharing stories about her projects and classmates at the end of each day. Academically, the bilingual environment has been incredible; her proficiency in both English and Mandarin has grown by leaps and bounds. Most importantly, she has developed a strong sense of independence that we know will serve her well in kindergarten and beyond. We are so grateful for the nurturing foundation Ripple provided.
I am truly impressed by the Ripple Montessori classroom environment. It is calm, beautifully organized, and designed to support each child's independence and curiosity. The materials are carefully arranged to encourage hands-on learning, and the teachers are patient, respectful, and deeply knowledgeable about child development. It's a place where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Highly recommended for any family seeking a nurturing, child-centered approach to education.
My child has a quick temper. When he was a little over two years old, he was rejected by the school's English department for biting someone for no reason. As first parents, we had many concerns and anxieties. We even worried that he might have problems and wouldn't be able to attend school normally. Teacher Annie gave us a lot of confidence. In the past year and a half, although there have been some minor disagreements, he has made rapid progress overall and is quickly growing into a proper older brother. We've fostered his independent personality and habits. The bilingual environment has also helped him adapt to both Chinese and English very quickly. We are so grateful to have met Ripple, and we hope the school continues to improve!
