North Wedgwood Montessori is a preschool in Seattle at 11006 34th Ave NE, offering a Montessori-based environment for young children and their families. This type of setting is often a strong fit for parents who want a structured early learning program where children can explore materials, practice independence, and learn in a calm classroom with clear routines. The school appears especially relevant for preschool-age children, though parents may want to confirm exact age groups directly.
Children in a Montessori preschool like this may spend their day working with hands-on classroom materials, practicing practical life tasks, and participating in activities that support early literacy, language, and independence. For families, the experience may feel more like a thoughtful learning community than a simple childcare arrangement, with opportunities for children to build confidence while moving through activities at their own pace.
The school also appears to place value on family connection and classroom communication. Parents may appreciate a setting where teachers stay in touch about classroom life, school events, and the child’s day-to-day experience. That kind of communication can be especially helpful for first-time preschool families or caregivers who want to feel closely connected to what their child is doing at school.
North Wedgwood Montessori may be a particularly appealing option for families seeking a Montessori preschool in Seattle with a strong sense of community, supportive teachers, and a child-centered approach. Families looking for an early learning environment that balances structure, independence, and parent involvement may want to learn more about its current program details.
A great place for kids with a wonderful staff members. Preschool+
Our child had been at the same childcare facility from 9 months old to almost three and a half years old. After struggling with the care at that facility for about six months, we decided it was time to search for a new school. We toured three other childcare programs in North Seattle and nothing really felt like a good fit until we found Wedgwood Montessori. When we arrived at Wedgwood to tour, Chris let us sit in and observe the classroom. Chris is a natural teacher. He speaks to the children with respect and enthusiasm. The kids were encouraged to explore, but also understood what was expected of them. We knew very quickly that this was the kind of environment we wanted our child to experience. This school feels like a community invested in developing kind children. Additionally, our child has, within a timespan of a couple months, learned to write her name and almost every letter of the alphabet. She is truly happy and learning at Wedgwood Montessori. I wish this pre-school experience for every parent.
We've had a great experience at North Wedgwood Montessori! The sense of community is strong, and we love how parents and families are encouraged to be involved. Our child has grown so much socially, learning kindness, navigating sharing, and caring for others. Language development has also been steady and noticeable (as well as independence!). The director and teachers are truly amazing, and we really appreciate the weekly newsletters and events hosted by the teachers that keep us connected to what's happening in the classroom and on the playground. We feel lucky to be part of this nurturing and thoughtful school.
My child learned the phrase "safe, happy, and comfortable" here. Metti and the staff are warm and dedicated, creating a nurturing environment that balances creativity and structure. My daughter felt valued as an individual, becoming more independent and gaining tools to engage in play with others. I most highly recommend Metti and North Wedgwood Montessori for their ability to to grow social, emotional and academic skills in young children. On a personal note, Metti is one of the most thoughtful and kind individuals I've ever met, and I love connecting when we cross paths in the community.
We absolutely love this school. Our son is very lucky to be able to learn from Metti and her colleagues. The teachers are truly gifted and provide great role models for us as parents.
