The after-school classes are amazing, and their summer camp is always a huge hit with a ton of different activities to keep them busy. The teachers are wonderful and it really feels like family. Highly recommend!

9 months agoWe visited this Russian school in Bellevue for the first time for a trial class for our daughter. For us, this was an important step: a new city, a new country, and we were hoping to find a warm Russian-speaking environment where she would feel safe and welcome. At the trial art lesson all the children were drawing the same dog together. Our daughter was the only new child. Instead of inviting her to join the group and helping her through the task, she was seated separately and told to “draw what you already know how to draw.” No one tried to gently support her, include her in the shared activity, or explain why she was being given something different. For a child, this feels not like “individual approach”, but like: “You are not part of the group.” She was very upset and left with a sense of exclusion on her very first visit. Later we wrote that we would like to take a pause and not continue. In response, no one asked what had happened, how our daughter felt, or whether something could be improved. We received only a short goodbye message with “all the best”. The problem for us is not one specific drawing task, but the overall attitude. We felt a lack of emotional involvement and interest in the child herself — as if the process was more important than the feelings of a new, sensitive girl who is just trying to find her place. For families who are looking not only for classes, but also for a caring, attentive environment during adaptation, this may be important to know.

a year agoOur experience at Google Summer Camp this year was disappointing compared to previous years. While we've had positive experiences in the past, this session felt poorly run. The admissions process was difficult, and I found the staff to be quite rude. My children spent most of their time outdoors under a tent in a parking lot, and there seemed to be very little teacher guidance. We enrolled hoping for continued Russian language practice and engaging activities, but those expectations weren't met. I cannot recommend this camp based on our recent experience.
