Tiny Notes Enrichment Center / Tiny Notes Music and Movement in Port Orchard, WA appears to serve young children through a mix of preschool, music, movement, and early learning activities. It may be especially relevant for families looking for a child-centered setting where children can learn, play, and participate in creative activities during the preschool years.
Children at Tiny Notes seem to take part in music, activities, and learning experiences that are woven together rather than separated into rigid parts of the day. The center also appears to offer additional activities outside the school day, which may give families more options for enrichment. For children, that can mean time to sing, move, make things, and interact with others in a way that feels playful and structured at the same time.
Parents may appreciate the thoughtful communication and flexibility mentioned in family experiences, especially when drop-off and pick-up timing matters. The setting seems to be supportive of working families, and the staff comes across as attentive to children as individuals. For some children, that kind of environment can make the transition into preschool feel more manageable and familiar.
Tiny Notes may be a helpful option for families who want a preschool with music and movement in Port Orchard and value a creative learning environment. Parents may want to ask about schedules, age groups, and whether the program is the right fit for their child’s current stage before enrolling.
Initially, our experience with Tiny Notes Music and Movement was positive, but unfortunately, the quality of care declined significantly starting in November 2024. An incident occurred where our child was left in a too-small diaper without us being notified, leading to discomfort and distress. Communication worsened when a new staff member was assigned, limiting us to email only. The final issue arose when we were asked to sign a form requiring weekly attendance at parent training, a demand that is especially challenging for military families like ours due to deployments and other service obligations. We were disappointed by the lack of understanding and flexibility, especially considering the initial improvements our child had made. We feel that Tiny Notes Music and Movement does not adequately support or accommodate military families' unique needs.
Our family’s experience with Tiny Notes movement and music was disappointing due to poor communication and sudden changes that negatively affected our child’s participation. Our child was forced out of the program with less than 14 days’ notice, which was very upsetting. Before this, the ABA lead was switched without any prior warning or discussion. Before the new lead, Kevin, joined, there were no issues raised about our child or the program. However, once Kevin took over, communication became very restricted—we were limited to email only, and it was made mandatory for all parents to attend every meeting, which was difficult since my spouse is on sea duty . After Kevin joined, we noticed fewer families in the pick-up and drop-off lines, and the school atmosphere felt colder and less flexible. Overall, the changes made it hard for us to stay involved and left us feeling disconnected from the program.
Best PK my son has gone to. As he is approaching kindergarten I’m a bit sad that I didn’t know about Tiny Notes until summer of last year. They are so patient and work well with my autistic son. They actually gave him a chance where many places may not have. I would 100% recommend families to this facility.
As my daughter prepares to graduate from preschool, I just want to take a moment to say how incredibly grateful I am for Tiny Notes. They not only support my daughter, but also me as a parent. They host community classes to teach about sensory processing, do frequent parent meetings, and help come up with some kind of solution to any behavior I have concerns about. If they don’t have the answer; they will research and ask around until they do. From day one (which was playgroup 4 years ago with Mrs Ashley), the love, patience, and dedication from the teachers and staff have made such a difference in her life, in our families life. My daughter came in as a 1 year old at first, then began preschool at 2.5 She had tremendous behavior concerns her first year, but they never made me feel bad about it or shamed her or I, they supported her and supported us with having her tested for autism. They supported me with facing the diagnosis. Ashley connected me with someone who could diagnose her and has been the biggest support through this all, walking me through resources and supports available as a parent, as well as walking me through things with the school district. I knew nothing about autism until my daughter was diagnosed, and they’ve been there every single step of the way. They helped her grow in confidence, communication, and independence. She is a completely different kid, and we have learned so much as parents. Her team not only celebrates her strengths, but also helped her work through challenges in a way that made her feel safe and encouraged. She loves going to school and has nothing but kind things to say about all the staff she works with. I can’t even begin to name all the amazing staff there at Tiny Notes who has helped my daughter…Mrs Ashley (the director), Elaina and Bailey in OT, her BCBA Kevin, the techs Erma, Caryn, Rachell, Ashlie, and Millie, and Andi in the office who has fought with our insurance to get claims approved so my daughter could continue ABA and OT. Even staff who isn’t there anymore…Megan and Jordan. A few of these staff have supported me as a mother going through complete breakdowns due to behaviors and being completely overwhelmed when she really first began ABA and was diagnosed. I could call and just vent about my concerns with my daughter’s behavior and they’d remind me I was doing a good job and offer me support. They got me through some really difficult times when she was first diagnosed and first began her journey. Ashley even continues to support families at Tiny Notes by having the director of special education come talk to parents for kiddos going into kindergarten to ensure they get support, and will even advocate to the school district to ensure that support is set up. This school has been more than just a preschool — it’s been a second home to my daughter. A life changer. I’ll always be thankful for the care, structure, and kindness they’ve given our family. We will continue our Tiny Notes journey next year with my son, where I know he will be in good hands. If you’re looking for a place where your child will be seen, heard, and supported every step of the way — this is it. I’ll never send my kids to any other preschool. Thank you Tiny Notes staff, you all have truly made such a difference for our family
