Children at this center seem to experience a mix of nurturing care, Montessori values, and everyday activities that support independence. The environment is described as a place where children form friendships, build confidence, and take part in age-appropriate routines. One of the practical benefits mentioned is flexible drop-off and pick-up timing, which may be useful for working parents who need a little extra room in their schedule.
For parents, the biggest theme is staff support. Teachers are described as kind, attentive, and easy to talk to, which can matter a lot when choosing care for very young children or a child attending daycare for the first time. The center also appears to be especially reassuring for families who want responsive communication and a steady, caring presence throughout the day.
North Tacoma Montessori Center – Achievement may be a strong option for families searching for Montessori child care in Tacoma with flexible hours and a family-like atmosphere. Parents may want to ask about current age groups, classroom placement, and scheduling details to see whether it fits their child’s needs.
We brought both of our boys here for the past five years and can’t speak highly enough about this place. The teacher’s staff and crew really care about the kids. It’s been fun to watch. Our boys become so much more independent and create so many friendships and memories here over the years. Also appreciate the flexibility for being able to drop off early and pick up late when work requires.
This was the childcare facility we chose to place our infant in. The tour we had in December ended up being quite different from the time we started in June. We came the Friday before starting on Monday and still they were not ready to accept our son the morning of drop off. Nothing set up for him or a spot to put his items. The fridge where they kept the bottles was filthy. The individual who greeted us that morning was callus for someone dealing with a family dropping off their newborn for the first time. We did not feel welcome or that our child would be well taken care of. They informed us THAT day that the infant teaches don’t get in until later so our son would be passed between people until then. It was beyond unprofessional. They allow parents with outside shoes to walk where the infants are crawling. The teachers in the infant room were very kind and caring but updates throughout the day were vague and photos were terrible. It appeared as though our child was just laid on a tummy time mat and left there a large portion of the day as teachers were busy with the older kids. Also, received updates about our child taking a nap well when he wasn’t even there. This facility seems great for older children > 1 year old but not infants. We pulled our son after a week. Manager Katy was nice and responsive.
There are limited details online regarding their programs, but I was informed during a site tour that they have a strict 9am drop off time. If you can’t get your kid there before 9am, it “might not be a good fit.” Just thought people should know so they don’t waste their time touring. Seemed decent, but the building was definitely showing signs of wear (broken and jagged tiles leading out the door in the preschool class). The preschool class size is 26 with 4 teachers. Definitely felt like a lot of kids in one space.
