Guidepost Montessori at Kent offers a Montessori preschool experience in Kent that appears well suited to toddlers and children in the early elementary years. Families looking for a structured, child-centered environment may appreciate the school’s clear routine, small feel, and focus on helping children move through different stages of early learning.
Children at a Montessori preschool typically work with hands-on materials, practice practical skills, and move between independent activities and guided lessons. At Guidepost Montessori at Kent, families mention the progression from Toddler House to Children’s House, which suggests a program that serves children across early developmental stages rather than just one narrow age group. That can be helpful for parents who want continuity as their child grows.
The school is described as clean, organized, and not too overwhelming, which may appeal to families looking for a calmer preschool environment. Staff are often characterized as warm, patient, and welcoming, and that matters for children who are new to school or still building confidence in a group setting. The front desk and leadership also appear to play a strong role in making families feel greeted and supported each day.
Because this is a preschool program, it is likely best for families seeking a regular school setting rather than a parent-and-child class or casual drop-in activity. Parents may want to ask about current age ranges, classroom schedules, and enrollment details. The program may be a good fit for children who enjoy routine, hands-on learning, and a respectful classroom environment where they can grow steadily over time.
It was fun seeing someone in Chicago with a Guidepost shirt on. Great minds do think alike… Yes, we’ll figure out AI, we always do. Sometimes it just takes time
They are working hard to improve.
We couldn’t be happier with our experience in the Children's House classroom. From the moment you walk in, you can see the care put into the environment. Everything is accessible, featuring child-level furniture and inviting materials that truly spark a child’s curiosity. Mr. Ben and Ms. Jorga have mastered the Montessori method. They protect the uninterrupted work cycles, allowing the children to develop deep concentration and a genuine love of learning. We have seen a massive shift in our child’s independence; she is more self-sufficient with practical life tasks at home, like cleaning up and dressing herself. What sets Mr. Ben and Ms. Jorga apart is their observation skills. During conferences, it’s clear they keep records of our child’s progress, providing timely updates that show they truly understand our child’s unique developmental journey. They also model grace and courtesy beautifully, fostering a safe, nurturing, and joyful atmosphere where social-emotional growth is a priority. Overall, it truly feels like a family here and we feel so blessed to have such dedicated guides for our child’s early years. We're lucky that our daughter loves all the staff and guides.
Ms. Rose, Ms. Janessa and Ms. Mudita do so much more than facilitate learning and teach. They create an environment of learning and play that feels safe, empowered and fun. I am blown away by the things my daughter mentions she learned in school and by how at home she has become at Guidepost in Children’s House. Our experience is more than we could have ever hoped!
We have had a wonderful experience with Guidepost. We were a little hesitant at first, but our daughter has really thrived here. Ms. Johnette, Ms. Lovely, Ms. Kat, Ms. Edith and Ms. Nani have been wonderful with our children. They've treated our child with care and have gotten to know her as she's worked up from Toddler house to Children's house. The front desk has aslo been great, Heather, the head of school, and Jennifer, the assistant head, has said "Good Morning" every single morning and has made us feel welcome at the school. The school is clean and has a very good structure that we enjoy, small and not too overwhelming. We appreciate the Guidepost staff.
