British Swim School at LA Fitness – Covington offers swim lessons in Covington for babies, toddlers, young children, and older kids who are building comfort and technique in the water. The program appears to work well for families who want a structured lesson setting rather than casual open swim, with instruction that can range from early water introduction to more refined stroke work for experienced swimmers.
Children may spend their time in guided water lessons focused on confidence, safety awareness, and age-appropriate skill practice. For very young children, the experience appears to be a parent-supported or instructor-supported format where children are gently introduced to the water. For older children, the program can also support stroke development, turns, and stronger swimming technique. That makes it relevant for families at different stages, from first lessons to more advanced practice.
The instructors are described as patient, kind, and attentive, which may be especially reassuring for parents of hesitant swimmers. The lessons also seem to be organized with individual needs in mind, so children are not simply moved through a one-size-fits-all format. Families looking for a beginner-friendly swim school may appreciate the calm, supportive approach.
Since the classes take place inside LA Fitness, families may want to confirm scheduling, pool space, and current age group options before enrolling. The environment appears to be focused on consistency and progress, which may appeal to parents who want regular lessons rather than occasional recreation. This is a strong fit for families in Covington seeking children’s swimming lessons with a patient teaching style and a clear lesson structure.

2 months agoI would personally avoid British Swim School at LA Fitness. A new instructor dropped my 4-year-old into the water, requiring another instructor to pull her out. When I calmly requested that she be placed with a different instructor going forward because she was scared, my membership was canceled. That experience left me very uncomfortable with the program. Updated Response: British Swim School South Renton-Covington's response confirms that an incident occurred but also minimizes it as a "minor splash." My 4-year-old was participating in a skill transition in which she was expected to be caught and supported. Instead, she fell under the water, panicked, and another instructor intervened to get her out. She was scared after this incident and didnt want to go to the next lesson in case she was put with the "boy that dropped her". My only request afterward was that she not be assigned to that new instructor again and instead be placed with a more experienced instructor. A parent advocating for a frightened 4-year-old after an incident should not be characterized as being unable to align with safety standards, nor should it result in cancellation of a membership. I stand by my review. Parents considering swim lessons for very young children can read both accounts and decide for themselves whether describing such an incident as a "minor splash" and canceling a family's membership after requesting a different instructor reflects the level of safety and responsiveness they expect from a swim program.

2 months agoOur 2yo son has had an amazing time with the British Swim School. Our son has been working with Celia and she is so patient when working with a group of babies/young toddlers. We have traveled to disneyland, Cambodia, and Guam and each time we can have access to a pool our son loves it and we attribute that to his time with this program
