eXit SPACE | theNEST offers dance classes in Seattle for students who want a welcoming place to learn, move, and build confidence at their own pace. The studio appears especially approachable for beginners, with instruction that breaks steps down slowly and gives plenty of individual attention. For parents exploring classes for an older child or a family member new to dance, this kind of supportive pacing can make a first class feel less intimidating.
The experience here seems centered on clear instruction, positive feedback, and a friendly atmosphere. Dancers are given corrections and encouragement, which may help them stay engaged while learning technique and movement patterns. The reviews also point to a staff that feels warm and attentive, something many families look for when choosing a studio for a child or teen who may be trying structured classes for the first time. While the available information does not specify age groups, the studio appears relevant for youth, teens, and adults rather than preschool-age children.
Because the classes are instructor-led and structured, families may want to contact the studio directly to ask about current class levels, age requirements, and scheduling. The setting may appeal most to students who do well with a patient teacher, a supportive room, and a slower introduction to new material. For families in Seattle looking for beginner-friendly dance instruction with an encouraging tone, eXit SPACE | theNEST looks like a thoughtful option.

2 months agoI went to exit space after never having danced in my life (I'm in good shape but pretty uncoordinated). I had just been discharged from pt for breaking my foot getting off the couch. Tl:dr 10/10 would recommend as the place to go if you are nervous about picking up a new skill. The space is nice, the teachers are wonderful, supportive, good at bringing things down to a basic level, while also clearly being really talented dancers themselves. I took two modern basic series with Rose, and she was the perfect teacher for never having danced before. The first series happened to be all people with no dance experience before and the second had people who danced in the past. She tailored the speed and content of each series to the class so seamlessly. I also find her ways of explaining things super helpful for someone with no experience. She's also mentioned taking classes herself to expand her teaching skills as on example of her dedication to teaching. I am now taking beginning with Tyra who is also wonderful. I'm clearly the farthest behind in class and she does a great job making things hard enough for those with experience but making the class feel safe and supportive for me. The studio space itself is also is in good shape and they have a nice lounge area and two bathrooms. I will say if you tend to get warm bring water and dress with layers you can remove. As with most buildings in Seattle it can get warm in the summer. The location couldn't be better for hanging out after or before. Parking can be tough so plan for time for that but being comfortable with parallel parking I only had an issue finding a spot once and it was when I was already running late. Usually I find a spot on the street in front or on greenlake way. The atmosphere and community of the school is also really supportive and welcoming. I work in corporate tech and going to dance classes has become a really nice foil to my work life. Also if you've never dance before and you're thinking, hmmm idk if I want to commit to 8 weeks. JUST DO IT. You can miss two sessions and make up later and I needed the slow down basic offered. I plan to do basic in other dance styles in the future.

8 months agoTook my first EVER dance class last night with Roni and had an exceptional experience. I am not a natural and yet she still did such a great job making everyone feel good and breaking things down very slowly. Absolutely loved it and I will be coming back. The other staff I met were so friendly too!

a year agoAnnie DeVuono is the absolute best teacher. She gives every student attention and corrections, and goes out of her way to also give positive feedback and encouragement to each student. This attitude brings such energy and vitality to her classes. No matter what level you are at, she treats her students like dancers and as a result her classes really feel like dancing! 11/10
