British Swim School of The Retreat at Bothell offers swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, and young children in Bothell. The program appears especially focused on water safety and helping little ones become comfortable in the pool step by step, which can be reassuring for parents looking for a first swim experience.
Children seem to practice beginning swim skills in a structured lesson setting rather than just free play. The classes are described as progressing at each child’s own pace, so families may find this helpful if their child needs time to warm up to the water. The mention of infant-stage classes suggests the school is relevant even for very young swimmers, while older toddlers and preschoolers may continue building basic comfort, floating, and early swim readiness in a patient environment.
The parent experience also looks important here. Families are likely present during lessons, and the atmosphere comes across as supportive for both children and caregivers. Staff are described as friendly, patient, and encouraging, which may be especially helpful for a child who is nervous about the pool. One-on-one attention and playful teaching approaches may make the setting feel more approachable for beginners.
The pool area is described as clean and convenient, which is useful for parents planning regular lessons. Families interested in baby swim classes, toddler swim lessons, or a water safety program in Bothell may want to check current class times and age group availability before visiting.

3 months agoAll the B.S.S. Staff has been friendly, professional and excellent in supporting our little guy (Jam) in water safety and beginning to swim.
Special callout and thanks to Liz for going the extra mile to help Jam get back in the water after several difficult (failed) attempts to convince him there are no sharks in the water. Liz really took the extra time, dressing up as Spider-Man and doing 1-on-1 activities. It worked! You rock!

5 years agoI could not recommend this place more. We started attending with our daughter from the tadpole classes (infant stage) and the whole process has been wonderful with the staff being patient and comforting every step of the way as our young child familiarizes herself with water. The staff teaches critical water safety skills and allows every child to progress at their own pace. The swim classes have not only been valuable but also incredibly fun for our daughter as well as us as parents! The location itself is also wonderful, clean, and conveniently located.

4 years agoSmall, crowded place. Messy, ice water. Humid, moist air.
I got 3 last minute cancellations by the school, they always called one hour before my morning classes. Pool is poor managed by the community and the school just rent the pool from the community, water is colder than other pools, not an ideal pool for little kids.

4 years agoMy daughter was removed based on the wishes of her grandmother excuse me but I’m her legal guardian. Not her grandma. Secondly why wasn’t I notified. If they only allowed the parent to make the choices for their kids I wouldn’t be ticked off. Now I’m on the waiting list thanks to her unqualified grandmother.
