Northwest Center Kids At Chinook is a child care agency in Seattle that appears to serve infants through preschool-age children in a thoughtful, family-centered setting. Based at Chinook, this program may be especially useful for parents looking for structured care with a welcoming transition for children entering a new classroom or starting mid-year.
Children in this type of setting can expect a daily routine that likely includes play, learning activities, and opportunities to settle into group care at their own pace. Families mention that children come home with things to talk about, which suggests an environment with age-appropriate experiences that keep little ones engaged throughout the day. The center also appears to work well for families who want a place where children can be supported as individuals rather than simply placed into a one-size-fits-all program.
One of the clearest strengths is the inclusive child care environment. Parents describe a team that is accommodating and responsive, including support for children with additional needs and coordination with outside therapists when needed. That may matter to families who want caregivers to communicate clearly and work collaboratively. The staff also seems to be approachable and communicative with parents, which can be reassuring when choosing care for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers.
The setting comes across as organized, warm, and community-oriented. Parents also mention building friendships with other families, so this may appeal to those who value connection as part of the childcare experience. Families considering Northwest Center Kids At Chinook may want to ask about current openings, age-specific classrooms, and the best fit for their child’s schedule and care needs.

2 years agoWe came to NW Center Kids from another downtown daycare and have been so impressed not only with the care our child receives, but also the organization of the school administration. The teachers did a great job of welcoming our child mid-year and getting him acclimated to a new environment. He is excited to go to school each day and comes home with lots to tell us about what he's learning. The communication we get from the school is clear and responsive to any questions that come up.

2 years agoWe love Northwest Center! We started with early invention services and at the suggestion of his wonderful speech therapist we signed up for their waiting list even though we had a spot at another childcare. Our original childcare was not inclusive and our as son went through a challenging period, it was clear he needed a different environment. At NWC Chinook the team has been incredibly accommodating to his needs. They both give and receive feedback, not only from us, but also from the private therapists he sees. We don't feel alone with a kiddo on the autism spectrum!

2 years agoBoth my children have attended NW Center Kids, spanning the infant to preschool rooms. The teachers have all been compassionate and fully engaged with the children, going above and beyond to bring creative, educational activities for the little ones as well as a warm, safe class environment. They are very communicative with the parents and can offer helpful tips based on their knowledge of your child.
It's also a place where parents can build community with one another. We've scheduled group play dates outside of school for our kids. It's a real blast watching them all grow up together.

2 years agoNWC is a wonderful school, filled with admin, staff and teachers who love and care for each child. I had the most meaningful onboarding experience for myself and my toddler, where the staff helped me work through challenges with my WA state childcare subsidy timeline, helped acclimate my then-almost two year old to daycare for the first time, and even were willing to set up a process for returning my kiddo's compostable diapers at the end of each day (so I could return them through the correct compost program at home). I highly recommend their school to every family close enough to attend.

2 years agoWe love NW Center for Kids!! Our son has a special medical need and the whole staff took ownership to get trained by his clinic nurses. The care and attention they provide to each of their kids is unmatched. This is the place all childcare centers should be modeled after. We’re excited to send our 2nd this fall <3 Can’t say enough good things about NW Center!
