Evergreen Christian Montessori is a preschool in Federal Way that combines Montessori learning with a Christian environment for young children. The program appears especially relevant for preschoolers and early elementary-age children, with families noting that children may attend through first grade.
Children in this setting likely experience a classroom that supports early academics along with daily routines centered on kindness, responsibility, and character. The Montessori approach suggests hands-on learning, independent work, and opportunities for children to move at their own pace, while the Christian foundation adds a values-based element to the school day. For parents, that can mean a program that is focused not only on school readiness, but also on helping children grow in habits and behavior.
The school appears to have a low teacher-to-student ratio and a caring, attentive staff, which may be appealing to families who want a close relationship with teachers. That kind of setting can be helpful for children who do best with consistency and personal attention. It may also be useful for parents looking for a longer early education path, since the school serves children beyond preschool age.
Evergreen Christian Montessori may be a good fit for families seeking Christian Montessori preschool in Federal Way with an emphasis on academics, independence, and character development. Parents considering the school may want to ask about age groups, classroom structure, and how the program changes as children move through the early grades.
My 3 kids attended ECM many years ago and they had a wonderful experience there. The education was excellent with low teachers to students ratio. Mrs. Horner and her team truly went above and beyond to attend to each student and help them improve in the academic development, but also a well rounded aspect of being a responsible individual. Most importantly they give the kids love and care. The experience there gave all my 3 children a great advantage when they enter elementary and continuing their education further. Currently my oldest son, Cody is a second year at UW in Seattle and major in pre-dental. My middle child, Julius is graduating high school and received so many great offers from colleges. He got full scholarships to UC Irvine, half scholarship to UC San Diego, no scholarship to USC, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Princeton University, and UW in Seattle. My daughter will be a junior in Fall 2026. Overall I really love the environment and the care that ECM offered. I also sent my niece there 1 year ago and she loved there. I would feel very confident recommending friends and families to bring their kids there. Thank you Mrs. Horner for all your hardwork. Dr. Samantha Tran
Evergreen Christian Montessori has been a great school for our daughter. She has definitely grown both academically and spiritually. I wish all schools had such devoted teachers to help our future generations learn.
Very good school for kids. All 3 of my children attended this school, and they went on to excel in public school afterward. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, and the kids truly love going there. One of the highlights every year is hatching baby chicks in the spring and planting peas — such wonderful hands-on experiences for the children.
All three of our children attended this Christian Montessori through 1st grade, and we couldn’t have asked for a better foundation for their education. When they transitioned into traditional school, they were academically ahead of their classmates and well prepared in both learning skills and confidence. The Montessori approach gave them a strong foundation for academic excellence while also encouraging independence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning. Just as important to us was the Christian foundation woven into the environment each day. The emphasis on kindness, respect, responsibility, and character-building helped shape not only strong students, but strong young people. We are very thankful for the impact this school had on our children and highly recommend it to families looking for both academic and spiritual growth.
My daughter has been attending ECM for 2 years now and she has progressed so much compared to when she fist started. ECM uses traditional Montessori methods where everything is hands-on and the students are given the freedom to choose which work that interest them with the teachers' guidance. She is now reading at between 2nd and 3rd grade level while doing 1st grade level math at 5 years old. Her maturity level has also blossomed since they have multiple ages in a classroom, I have observed her helping the younger students when she noticed them. I highly recommend Evergreen Christian Montessori if you are looking for a high quality preschool for your child!
